Starting next Monday, February 1, our traffic patrol officer will not be at his post until 7:15am. This change will only be on Mondays. Tuesday through Friday there will be a traffic patrol officer directing morning drop-off traffic starting at 7am. Please continue to be patient and drive carefully during drop off. We appreciate everyone’s help in making morning drop-off run as smoothly as possible.

The mission statement and goals of the WINGS program are included below.
What is the Mission Statement of WINGS?
The WINGS program at Monarch is a peer buddy program that exists to develop relationships and educational opportunities between students with disabilities and students without disabilities through leadership development, education, inclusion, and community partnerships.
What are the goals of WINGS?
1. Create an educational partnership between students with disabilities and students without disabilities
2. Create a Leadership Development Program for 4th and 5th grade students
3. Promote school and community-wide inclusion and advocacy
4. Transform the way we think, view, and include one another in school and in our communities
5. Create a school culture in which all students are equal, visible, and participating members
What is the Meaning of WINGS?
1. Monarch Elementary is represented by the monarch butterfly
2. When we think about a butterfly, most of us are reminded of the transformation that takes place for the butterfly to develop
3. Only with its wings can a butterfly begin to fly and ultimately survive
4. Our goal for the WINGS program is to help each and every student at Monarch develop “WINGS” to fly and ultimately soar
We hope to “see” many of you this Friday at 9:00 am. Please let us know if you have any questions or need further information.

Mom’s Night Out
Calling all Monarch moms. We need you!!
Unfortunaely COVID-19 has taken its toll on businesses. One in particular is Barre 3, which is right here in our very own Five Forks community. They have reached out and they need us! As the VP of business partners for Monarch’s PTA, I have been blessed to have a relationship with them, and they have always been nothing short of gracious and generous to us.. They are the first to jump at the opportunity to donate free classes for moms night out, gift cards and free classes for Monarch’s amazing silent auction, and so much more!! They have become a staple in our community and I believe it’s time for us to give back to them.
We are going to be hosting a mom’s night out, the cost for the class will be $15 per person and all proceeds will go directly to Barre 3. Please join us in showing them some love and how the Monarch moms can come together for an amazing cause!! Get your girls and meet me at the Barre!! We will supply snacks and beverages for all who attend!
* At this time there is a 12 person maximum in the studio
